Two armed robbers showed up and demanded some card game players money. When the players, including 18-year-old Brian Wallace Jr., made a run for it the criminals started shooting, according to deputies. Wallace and a relative one ran and took refuge behind a car, then they realized Wallace had been shot.

The shooting took place Thursday and happened at Apollo Park, 1580 NW Third Ave., just west of the Pompano Beach Airpark, around 9:30 p.m.

Wallace was taken to Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach where he died due to his injuries at about 3:50 a.m. Friday.
