DWLS (Driving While License Suspended)

This refers to a person whose driver’s license has been canceled, suspended, or revoked. Who knowing of such suspension, cancelation or revocation, drives any motor vehicle will be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree on the first conviction, a misdemeanor of the first degree on the second conviction, and a felony of the third degree on the third or subsequent conviction.
To determine whether you were driving with the license suspended knowingly the person must have been previously cited for this charge, or the person must admit to knowledge of the cancellation, suspension or revocation. If you don’t qualify for either of these you become a person who has no knowledge of such suspension, revocation or cancelation. This is offense is classified as a non-criminal traffic infraction.
